Welcome to Clever Fox Education First Blog on cramming

Welcome to this, the first of what we hope will be a series of regular blogs from Clever Fox Education.
By Clever Fox Education

The word ‘cram’ can be used in two contexts:

  • To force a lot of things into a confined space.
  • To study a lot of things in a very limited time.

Perhaps these two contexts are not as separate as they might seem.

For many people, and, indeed, for some of us, the experience of so-called ‘coaching colleges’ or tutors carried with it the concept of ‘cramming’ for exams, hoping to somehow ‘lock ’into one’s brain and memory, often at the last minute, all the supposedly essential bits and pieces of knowledge and information that make up ‘education’, at least in its formal sense.

Let me assure all those reading this, that our small but dedicated team at Clever Fox Education believe in a much more holistic, student-focused philosophy, profoundly influenced by the more than 100 years of our joint experience, at classroom, administrative, curriculum, assessment and evaluation levels, locally, nationally and internationally.

We are first and foremost teachers, knowledgeable about, and committed to building upon the many experiences and achievements your child has already undertaken at school.

We know, first-hand, just how busy today’s teachers are, with an ever-expanding curriculum and more and more demands placed upon them, not only by education authorities, but by society itself.

This being so, we are in a unique position to identify and respond to each of our students’ specific needs, priorities and aspirations, to set tasks and activities with measurable goals, and to regularly report on progress.

We have ‘runs on the board’, as evidenced by the many unsolicited testimonials from parents and students, not only relating to the outstanding results received, but to significant improvements in attitude, learning and study habits.

In this regular blog, we hope to share such achievements with you, as well as share many helpful hints, suggestions and strategies, all aimed at making your child’s education a worthwhile and enjoyable experience and we look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,
Amber Fox
