Clever Fox Education was founded in response to a problem Amber observed across the Australian education system: student writing quality was steadily declining — and explicit writing instruction had largely disappeared from classrooms, even in top-tier private schools.
Capable students were arriving at high-stakes exams without ever being explicitly taught how to structure an argument, how to plan a narrative, how to deploy figurative language deliberately, or how their writing would be assessed. Schools assumed students would absorb these skills; in reality, very few did.
Amber saw the gap, and she saw who was paying the price: the students themselves, often bright and motivated, under-prepared for the exams that would shape their educational futures.
Clever Fox was created to fill that gap — combining examiner-informed insight (from Amber’s work writing and reviewing NAPLAN and ICAS assessments) with explicit, structured, evidence-based writing instruction.
